The tiny Plaza de Simón Bolívar consists of a delightful park with the life size bronze statue of Simón Bolívar, the Liberator of the Latin America (El Libertador), that stands on a plinth beneath the shade of the surrounding tress. The ceramic mural at the back of the small fountain belongs to another Venezuelan, to the artist Carmen Montilla that completed it in 1999.
Twenty meters ahead, on the Mercaderes street, you will find the
Casa Museo Simón Bolívar.
The park is a resting place for
everybody.
The Plaza de Simón Bolívar is located
