The Planetario is located ion the eastern part of the Plaza Vieja, on the Mercaderes street , between the Muralla and the Teniente Rey (Brasil) streets.
The interactive museum
Planetario is inaugurated as part of a collaborative project
between the Government of Japan, the Ministry of Science,
Technology and Environment of Cuba and the Office of the
Historian of the City in 2009. In this scientific and
cultural center the big bang, the solar system and the
galaxy, all that what is related with the birth of our
planet and the cosmos, is explained in an impressive way by
three dimensional representations and models. The 45-minute
guided tour is particularly educative for kids that would
imagine the 13.700 million years of the universe during
their visit of the rooms spread over four floors.
