The Aquarium is located on the Teniente Rey (Brasil) street #8, between the Mercaderes and the Oficios streets, about half a block east of Plaza Vieja.

Today, the Aquarium is operating with the same theme in the same place where, after being closed for a long time, the first ecological center in Old Havana, the Acuario del Casco Historico, was giving service. The tanks that once contained about 70 species of fishes, aquatic plants, mollusks and crustaceans, representing different parts of the planet, have been replaced by a modern facility that uses all the possibilities of today's technology. Although the most striking prehistoric manjuarí (Cuban gar) of the Acuario del Casco Historico is not present in this new place, underwater life is presented in a very didactic way accompanied by educational panels. In the Aquarium, where usually small fish are found, the specimens from river life to ocean life are selected meticulously. This place, which is mostly preferred by those under the age of 15, is also an ideal place to spend time.
